Two special desires and purposes I here register with prayers for strength to come a little nearer than before to keeping them:
Give me more Purity,more truthfulness, more charity (Love) more Reverence more spirituality.

Breakfast at 10-

prayers, with my little Testament carried in all journeys, George McDonald's "old soul." Fan Barnes' Scripture [p. 13 (unnumbered)] calendar. We sang "There's a wideness in God's mercy," "There are Bands of Ribbon White [possibly ink blot covering "] and "We all belong. We knelt in prayers of penitence and hope. We asked that Blessed Mother might be our Guardian Angel. We read in the Testament Matthew xi . We have greater cares than ever because of contradictions in the English work & loss and changes in the personnel of the American.
-Little Anna went to her "Congrega" Church and promised to "listen for the trio."-I thought of dear, dismantled Rest Cottage-so bright one year ago and salved by my blessed Mother's sunny, God-believing presence. Dearest Anna [p. 14 (unnumbered)] and I condoled with one another because since New Year's Day last year we have each lost the one bound to us by ties of blood, of birth and nurture, whom of all our kindred we had all our lives
