Established church and were ushered into the Chancel to Lady H's seat under the droppings [?] of the Sanctuary. Music was good but we had many thoughts about the service.

Busier than bees all day. Lady H. and Frances working on proofs of Minutes out in the arbor. Many letters from home telling of the World's Congress of Women-of the great Exposition etc. How strange that we are not there when we have so long looked forward to the occasion. On Sat. by the Paris in which Somers Somerset sailed the fountain started on its way to the homeland.

Lady Henry's cold is not so well. I must record here the brilliant verses we spouted to Lady H. at dinner on her return. Frances got scared when called upon and had to be prompted-"Now is this week of rain & wet made radiant by our Somerset. Mine was as follows. Each day an aeon's length has been since last we saw your smile-Tis terrible to go away for such an awful while. But now that you are safely back youll never get the chance To go again to London Town And lead us such a dance

A quiet Sunday. Lady Somers came down from London in the morning and F & I went to the Priory so that the two ladies might have a little peace together. I read aloud to Frances and we went on the bicycles a little while.
Strolled back to cottage in afternoon and had supper with Lady Henry after her mother went back to London.
Reigate is lovely in the exquisite spring.
May 29, 1893
Today is all bustle again getting off for a week's stay in London. Lady H & F. went up in early morning and I late in the afternoon to find them established at Hotel Windsor- Beautiful rooms on first floor with sitting room attached. F & Lady H have attended com. meetings and are full of work and plans. Tomorrow begin the Women's Liberal Federation meetings and F is a delegate. Dinner by Mrs Sheldon Ames & others & reception to Welsh delegates by Mrs McLaren.
