Lady Henry has not one minutes peace. I did not feel anxious about my part for I knew that Canon Farrer, Stead, Mack Guy[?] Pearse, Mrs. Chant, Madam Antoinette Stirling the famous contralto (elats[?]) would so take the time that I could go scot free.-It was the most representative welcome of which I ever heard. Forty six separate reform & philanthropic guilds were on the platform by their representatives; numerous letters from famousnames; testimonials; baskets of fruit & flowers; all over How meeting[? ]& my beautiful Isabel generalissimo of it all. We went to the 100th BirthDay celebration of Dr. Severne Wiebelocky ? a Polish physician who never used liquors, tobacco, or much meat, rose at 6 and walked several miles every day.Isabel & I spoke & heard dear Dr. Norman Kerr & Canon Duckworth My beautiful "Twin" was taken sick with bronchitis and no wonder. I never knew a life so taxed. Dear Nannie is fatting up-seems as chipper as a cricket, physically-more so than I have ever seen her.-The Press (even The London Times) gives splendid notices-I am astonished at the general good will.

All day Isabel in bed. I was with her as much as possible but had to keep up my dictation. She took a chill passing from the Upper Hall to speak to the overflow meeting. She is the dearest patient ever seen-to every inquiry she answers "Better." I tell her that word would form her fitting epitaph. Hannah Smith was here and they talked of the difficulties among the British women and we are formulating a policy and arranging plans to hold the unity of the BWTA if possible. What a criss cross is this world!

My brother Oliver's eldest daughter Katharine arrived in London &went to Mr. Isaac Hendersons-the writer of novels & plays. We invited her to lunch but she couldn't come-so tired with sea trip from Bremen. Nan spoke to Band of Hope-held their attention-is a power "much every way." I am so grateful for her improved estate- her appetite, sleep, and generally changed outlook of physical good. Dearest Nan! Your great ministries to me & mine-your loving loyalty to Mother make you forever endeared & sacred.-Isabel is the greatest worker I ever knew-except myself! Selah.
